The First Time I Saw…

The first time I saw the cruel, cold eyes at the door, I knew. The Wolves would force their vise of fear to bring locks and chains to debts owed. No words, just one brute shove, a street slave.

    The joy of the 33-word challenges for me is when someone manages to create a whole story out of so few words. You did that in this piece, Sun! Losing it all and being forced to the street is a big, sweeping life event but, you managed to convey the full sense of it with very elegant use of language. Lovely writing, Sun! 🙂
