A musical haiku prompt from Chevrefeuille’s Carpe Diem Haiku Kai, Dance with the Trees.
Let us dance, shall we?
Thanks for the lovely dance!

Now, Sun – I’m going to spoil the party. I thought the haiku has five beats, then seven beats, then five again? Perfection to be striven for at all times! – write that on the blackboard, my girl, a hundred times! [grin]

i thought that 5-7-5 was haiku, MR, but hanging around the Carpe Diem community and reading more on the art of haiku has changed the brain pattern a bit. 🙂 traditional haiku, yes, keeps the 5-7-5 beat, but look at this one by the greatest haiku poet in Japanese history, Basho Matsuo:
summer grasses –
all that remains
of warriors’ dreams
or…
by Jack Kerouac:
The taste
of rain
–Why kneel?
cool, huh? 😛
