5 Minute Friday: When Will it be ENOUGH?

Enough…GO:

batman, shooting spree,theater,5 minute friday, enough,

When will it be enough that we stop hurting each other? Tragic recent news from Aurora, Colorado…theater 9…evacuation…mass shooting at the midnight showing of the new movie, Batman. The radio news spills out that at least 12 people killed and at least 40 people injured.

When will it be enough that a 24-year-old male can enter a movie theater wearing black attire, carrying a shotgun, wearing a riot helmet and bulletproof vest?

Chaos ran rampant an eyewitness explained as movie goers tried to find ways to escape from theater 9 room…the movie was still running as the shooter let loose. How did the shooter know to start shooting during a major gun scene in the movie causing the audience to think it was all part of the movie?

But, hey, why should we be surprised by this awful situation when it does not seem violent/graphic movies will ever end, perhaps this, James Holmes, was simply acting out what he had learned from his past experiences; he may have had enough of fantasy and just made his world a reality.

You got that so right, Ramanan, and it should not take any of us by surprise either…maybe this young person
was tired of just watching action/graphic movies and other x-box type games. Maybe he simply forgot where his reality and fantasy world started and ended.
      Yes, truly tragic.
      Thanks for sharing and visiting.
Your post on the glass walkway over in China was quite interesting…imaging constructing that over those mountains. Yikes!

Very sad and I agree we should have had enough of all this by now. Video games are also to blame. I do hope the world will somehow, someday become a better place.

I don’t know but I fear worst is to come if we don’t learn how to love and respect one another. My prayers are with all those affected by these circumstances. My prayers are for all of mankind, we are living in an increasing violent world.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

I just wonder sometimes if the violent video/computer games and movies make an impact on these young ones who seem to have a difficult time transitioning from reality to fantasy. Let us remain in prayer and hope for the best…
      Thank you!

It’s so sad that, such tragic events are taking place in the world we are all living. Still we feel proud that, we are living in a much developed and civilized world. Once in a while we get this kind of wake up call but I do believe any of us take this kind of event seriously to change something about the society we all live in.
    Great post Sunshine.

Sad indeed but not surprising since this young man is just a product of his upbringing. Not much has been written about the shooter yet so
      the ‘why’ is still unknown.
Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts on this tragedy, Arindam.

I’m having difficulty wrapping my head around this latest real-life horror story–I don’t know…I don’t know. It’s just too terrible–I don’t know. Prayers and more prayers, for Everyone. love, Caddo

A senior citizen told me today she wishes someone had carried their own concealed (legally) gun and used it on the shooter before he fatally hit so many. It seems extreme but it would have saved more lives…maybe this young man just lost touch with reality and was living in a game world.
You are right, Caddo…it’s hard to grasp.

Sunshine, this is so sad and heartbreaking to see such a young boy playing real life and we cannot understand what goes on in the heads of those people. Every time such kind of things are happens, and lately it happens far too much around the world, it looks like a testing of our believe in God. Like He said: “Son, forgive them, they don’t know what they do.”

It’s really sad how often human beings turn to violence and terror. And the question that never can be answered is; Why? Unfortunately it is not going to be the last time either. Which is an even more sad thought…

As you said earlier in another post, Otto, life is hard enough and when a senseless act such as this happens, every person on this planet is affected directly or indirectly.
There must be something we smart humans can do to reach out to those who go beyond reason and act out their fears…
      Thank you for sharing.
