busted to the point and on your knees
you’re crying out
to heaven above
“I’ve had the worst time in my life these last few ______ ( insert your own personal time frame)
God, I’m just ashes now
nothing left but a spirit
in need of repair and renewal
and ready to be the phoenix
You desire in my heart . . .
Are you crying out, in need of repair and renewal?
Did you know, the phoenix, a mythical bird, has long been presented as a symbol of rebirth, immortality, and renewal?
Wikipedia notes, it has a 500 to 1000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again. The new phoenix is destined to live as long as its old self.
But once you’ve had your life burn down, it takes time to be a phoenix.
It is in the forgiveness, the giving of our self to others, the simplifying of our daily lives and the conscious effort to end old and negative thoughts, that our new phoenix will arise.
