LeRoy’s reflections: Have you felt a bit of the “rat” race yet?

It does not take too long in the world of blogging to begin following bloggers that you like. Before you know it, you follow quite a few blogs, perhaps a bit more than you can keep up with. It happens.

Another thing that happens is that bloggers start following your blog. This is what makes a blogger smile…someone is following…someone likes what you write. It is like you have arrived; you follow and are being followed. Perfect…or is it?

With the rest of your life going on also, you find it difficult to keep up with the blogs you follow. Before you know it, you are no longer commenting because it’s quicker to hit the “Like” button. You also may find yourself skimming rather than reading some of the blogs you chose to follow. It happens.

All of this plus life going on plus finding time to write your…

LOL, I know this. I could easily spend my whole day on the internet … 😉 *sigh*

Sometimes, I need to take a break to get things done, but then, I miss blogging very quickly, so I usually give mysel half and hour or so a day to read my friends’ blogs, and I really enjoy it. I have a handful of blogs I read regularly, and some more I read every now and then but still somewhat regularly. Better fewer than too many I can’t keep up with anyway.

      HI Kath!
Yes, I think it’s a good idea to put a timer on when logging into the internet. Yikes! It feels like only a few minutes but it turns out to be hours!!
Thank you 🙂 Happy you stopped by 🙂

      Hello LIz!
It’s funny how we all are caught in this big wheel 🙂 but I must say, it’s a fun place to be too. Well, guess I will see you over at your place soon!
      Thanks! 🙂

My person can so relate to this. Right now she’s trying to catch up with three days of posts from the blogs she follows after a busy weekend.

I think blogs are only as frustrating as our expectations from them. WordPress stats tell us that most of the people here are too busy writing to read and a large number of the active readers are hanging around Freshly Pressed like a bunch of pilot fish.

Answering comments the way you do makes a difference, Sunshine. You write on a lot of topics. I like reading them, but I’m not always the right person to comment. The thing is, when I do want to comment, I feel comfortable knowing you will read it. That means a lot to me. I don’t think I’ve ever left a comment you didn’t respond to.

So anyway, I’ll leave this one and let you know that when I come by, I always enjoy what I read. 🙂

I love your keen observations Anne regarding blog frustrations and YES, I agree 100% on your point:
“a large number of the active readers are hanging around Freshly Pressed like a bunch of pilot fish.” This is Anne at one of her many fine moments in writing. 🙂 I see the Freshly Pressed aquarium and oh, yes, look at all those pilot fishes!!

Okay, now I’m totally this: WOW! Ohh, Anne, YOU just made my DAY, my YEAR, my LIFE as a blogger, fantabulous! Really. I’m guessing life as a blogger is not much different than our real lives. I mean, how we interact with our blogging friends in some ways, indicate (just my personal opinion) how we interact with friends in real life. Perhaps?
Thank you my friend, you have blessed me with your kind and generous words.
      ~Peace be with you 🙂
